A group of Boholanos based in New York, USA donated cash for "Inyong Alagad" of station dyRD last Friday.
Bonnie Dante, immediate past president of Sandugo USA turned over its latest donation of $625 intended for indigent patients who come to the radio station to seek for financial assistance to buy medicines. The donation was the latest received after the station pioneered the global broadcast through
www.dyrdam.com.
Dante turned over the donation to "Inyong Alagad" anchormen Fred Araneta and Chito Visarra last Friday.
Antonio Dejaresco, Sandugo USA president said that the group will continue to send fund assistance to the project. Sandugo USA has been doing this charitable work during the past five years. It was learned that the group is one of the marketing arms of a concert of The Lettermen in New York.
Meanwhile, dyRD's global broadcast became the venue of the recent interview with US Ambassador Kristie Kenny who personally visited the radio station for a live radio interview.
Ambassador Kenny was glad to hear that the station has fulfilled its mission of bringing Bohol closer to Boholanos worldwide.
The station pioneered the internet radio July last year. Its website which has become Boholanos' favorite source of hometown news has registered 374,909 views worldwide.
United States registered the highest listening audience at 43.86% followed by various provinces in the country (9.64%), Australia (8.41%), Canada (5.15%), and Great Britain (3.2%). Listeners also register in Saudi Arabia, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Germany, Qatar, Sweden, Netherlands, Thailand, Switzerland, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Kuwait and Norway.
