The regional office of the Department of Agriculture has asked the provincial government to urge the Bohol Profoods Industry to participate in the 17th Food Expo 2008 on January 31 to February 3 at SM Megamall in Metro Manila.
In his letter to Provincial Agriculturist Liza Quirog through Governor Erico B. Aumentado dated January 16, 2008, DA-7 OIC Regional Executive Director Ricardo Oblena requested the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist to invite the Bohol Profoods Industry to be among this year's exhibitors and get a chance to promote the Bohol-made processed food products.
A two-square-meter retail booth has been reserved free of charge for participants from Region 7.
The event, spearheaded by Philfoodex, aims to promote competitive food production in the domestic and overseas markets.
It will also give a chance for entrepreneurs to create linkages and efficiently manage various market channels.
For the past years, Philippine Food Expo was able to attract local and foreign investors on food processing business and has served as cost-effective promotional effort in further establishing link with more potential investors, Oblena said.
Boholano participants will have a chance to promote the best processed foods and the diverse agri-tourism investments and creative industries in the province, he added.
