Farmers must not only produce,
but be successful producers: Gov. Art Yap

"We are giving them the ability not only to produce, but be also successful businessmen in rice production", Gov. Art Yap said of the rice growers as he attended the Farmers' Forum on Government Assistance to Irrigators' Associations in Region 7 today.
He shared to everyone his Bohol program of grouping the farmers to consolidate all the help that can be given.
Yap would want the Boholano farmers to graduate from rice production into processors of their harvest.
He said the forum is one approach to bring the agency closer to the farmers in terms of relaying information on irrigation development.
Invited forum guests included the officers of the Regional Federation of Irrigators Associations (IAs) from Cebu, Negros Oriental, Bohol and Siquijor.
Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei Nograles, Gen. Ricardo Visaya (NIA Administrator), Engr. Wilson Lopez (Acting Regional Manager, Region 7), and Atty. Jiselle Rae Villamor (NIA Board Secretary) were also present.
