Gov. Erico Aumentado already has a choice for
Bohol's next police provincial director.
In a letter to Chief Supt. Lani-o Nerez, Police Regional Office 7 (PRO 7) director, Aumentado acknowledged receiving a list of three candidates from the former's predecessor, Chief Supt.. Federico Terte.
Instead of choosing from the three names, the governor instead enumerated to Nerez the qualities of the next provincial director he will choose to replace Sr. Supt. Edgardo Ingking who has completed his tour of duty in Bohol and is due for promotion that will make him overqualified for the position.
Aumentado said his preference for provincial director "is one who is very familiar with the terrain of his assignment, knows well the Boholano culture and ready to implement the Bohol Local Integrated Security System (Bliss).
The Bliss is a spin-off of the military's Internal Security System, developed by the military, the police and civilians including non-government organizations (NGOs) in the province.
The governor specified the readiness of Ingking's successor to implement the Bliss in the face of the transfer of the anti-insurgency campaign from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to the Philippine National Police (PNP) as spearhead.
