Tiger Woods put on his best performance on Sunday during the
6.1-million-U.S-dollar CIMB Classic in
Kuala Lumpur, but finished only tied fourth at the tournament as he failed to make up the deficit of the first three rounds.
The 36-year-old American golfer grabbed eight birdies, finishing 63 at the final round of the tournament. He has entered the final day at tied-10 after scoring 66-67-69 at the first three days.
Woods was three behind his compatriot Nick Watney on the final score sheet, who fired a outstanding 10-under par on Sunday to win the title.
Woods, one of the world's most highly paid sportsmen ever, won three times on this year's PGA Tour and moved up to number two on the official world golf rankings, but failed to win any major championship which he said would make a "good year" into a "great year."
