Filipino-British woman is on the brink of capturing the Miss England 2008 crown, ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau reported.
Zena Thirlwall, 17, has already passed the heat 6 qualifying round of the beauty pageant and has topped the ongoing text voting in England.
Thirlwall, a black belt in taekwondo, grew up and studied in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
She was chosen to be one of the contenders for Miss England after sending her photographs to Miss Photographic contest of the pageant.
In 2006, Thirlwall was crowned the Binibining Pilipinas in Saudi Arabia. The pageant was held in the Philippine embassy in Riyadh.
Currently, Thirlwall with other 20 pageant hopefuls entered the text voting in England which will last until March 30.
From the seven women who will get the highest votes, two will be selected to enter the Miss England beauty pageant.
Thirlwall’s father, Martin Zane, said he is confident that his daughter has a good chance of capturing the beauty title.
"She's really a British girl down at heart. I’m sure that in this particular contest, and any contest anyway, that if she wins she will really carry it very well and she will do some good for the winning title," he said. With reports from Raffy Beltran
