exactly my point, paisano. i deliberately made the "error" in my message to indaymen50 which you happily corrected -which i will not call typo errors because they are not- to show that we are not perfect. in all filipino dialects, the pronouns "siya" does not have a gender unlike english where there is a distinction if it is male or female. for this reason, i always give allowances for errors of this type where there is interchangeble use of he or she to describe someone especially if committed by filipinos and this includes you. to get a clarification whether you were talking about a male or a female, i chose to ask if you were talking about a male or female which to a smart reader like indaymen50 sounded like a stupid question, because i thought it was more polite that way than saying straight out that your use of the english language indicates the need for either more grammar lessons or more practice. i guess melrose is correct in saying to just let it be because this is really no big deal: i got the gist of the story now in the way you intended it to be, the use of both he and she notwithstanding so perhaps we can leave it at that. i hope this clears the issue... by the way, the gramatically-correct way of saying it is: Don't be too arrogant; not Don't be to arrogant. enjoy the holidays!
