Actress and singer Jolina Magdangal feels she is ready for politics. The question is, are we ready for her as one of the leaders of the land?

Despite the loss of her boyfriend Bebong Muñoz in his congressional bid in Caloocan City in the last May elections, Magdangal said she has not soured on politics.

Quite the opposite, the former child star and pop icon believes she could serve the country as a politician if need be.

(Only if going into politics is really needed would I do so. As you know, one can still serve the people outside of politics)."

Magdangal said her boyfriend's congressional campaign was an eye-opener for her, but it also made her realize that she still has so much more to learn about politics.

Magdangal was one of the many celebrities honored at the Hardin ng Bayani at Sining inaugural on November 9 at the Malolos capitol in Bulacan province.

Bulacan natives who are luminaries in Philippine cinema from the past to the present were honored by the provincial government in a Walk of Fame area ala Hollywood.

Magdangal hails from Norzagaray, Bulacan where her parents started their family.

(I have many memories of Bulacan. That’s why I like going here if I have time. I vividly remember, I was with my grandfather then, we were swimming in the river)," Magdangal recalled.

She also had fond memories of buying and savoring carabao cheese and milk.

(My grandfather would buy me carabao cheese and milk. I regret that I don’t do it anymore)."

She admitted Bulacan is the best place for her to start a political career if ever she would venture into the arena.

(You can help a lot of people. But then you don't have to wait till a political campaign; you can help people right now.)

She enjoyed touring the Philippine Cinema museum in Malolos which is a pet project of Mowelfund Executive Director Nick Deocampo and Bulacan Governor Jonjon Mendoza. The film museum has a giant standee of Jolina’s image towering above the rest of other stars who are natives of the province.

(It’s here in Bulacan where I first got my Outstanding Youth Award)," she volunteered.

As a tribute to the young actress, a life-sized Jolina mannequin will also be donated to the Bulacan museum.
