since this thread is about "celebrity", let's take a closer look then at what the word means:

in keeping with the blue-colored words (emphasis mine) criminals who just happen to have beards but whose crimes hugged the headlines for a time and whose names achieved recognition qualify as celebrities.

and like current news, today's celebrity could be tomorrow's history.  i don't know what hype was involved (because celebrity involves media hype as we know it) in your estimation that marcelo h. del pilar (the father of philippine masonry, besides), moses, king solomon and jesus christ himself are celebrities, even if they all had beards. 

to be honest, i cannot imagine moses and michael jackson in the same hall of fame.

positive effect lang gud, 'day isles. the latter pictures had positive message to give all of us, brothers and sisters in the faith (and even others outside the faith).

emphasis was mine with relation to the beard look (contemporary artists as well as historical artists portray them with beards).

ps. i never knew marcelo del pilar was a member of the masonry order. interesting. i learned something new today.
