MANILA, Philippines--International pop superstar Beyoncé Knowles is flying to Manila via a chartered flight Tuesday afternoon, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has confirmed.
MIAA's Public Affairs Office said on Monday that Knowles and a 70-member entourage were set to arrive on board a chartered plane at 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday, the eve of her one-night-only concert at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig Wednesday night.
Flying in from Shanghai, China, Knowles' MD-83 jet, a wide-body which seats up to 172 passengers, will be accommodated at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport's (NAIA) remote parking area, the same spot that hosted superjumbo Airbus A-380 when it arrived in Manila as part of a test flight series.
Knowles will be led straight to a waiting vehicle as soon as her plane completes its taxi to the ramp area. She will no longer use the NAIA Terminal, but local media have been cleared to cover her arrival strictly for photo opportunities.
The 26-year-old multiple Grammy winner, formerly the lead singer of the much-applauded all-female group Destiny's Child, will be in Manila for a one-night concert “Beyonce Experience Live†in Taguig City.
Her voice and famous hip-shake moved hits like “Irreplaceable†and “Baby Boy†up music charts around the world and earned for her even greater popularity as a solo artist.
After her engagements in Manila, Knowles and her group will fly out on Thursday morning.
