Vino ribera del duero
« on: September 14, 2009, 11:17:10 AM »
Hi everyone! When it comes to wines Spain is a current wine world player with great wines at great prices. Tempranillo is the major Spanish grape, usually the base of blended reds. Look for wines made in Rioja or vino ribera del duero regions. Ole! Bravo!

Careful if you buy it in Philippines. Look for the official "denominación de origen" seal.

I saw "rioja" wines in Philippines that were not what they were selling :)

The spanish wine from top regions has to have this in the bottle usually:

I've had Spanish wines, but I have to give it to the French and Italian wines. Hands down.

California-bred wines are also one of the best. :)

Cheers!

hehe, I had some pretty expensive Spanish wines when I briefly stopped by Amsterdam in '06. It was okay, I have to give my hat off to French Savignon; all the Bourdeoux-based wines are the best of the best.

Ever tasted a French wine that was over 120 years old?
Exquisite :)

Cheers!

I highly recommend :

Corton Grancey, 1999 or older

Puligny Montrachet, aged 2001 or older

I've had a glass of Romanee Conti, at a friend's house, this has got to be the best wine I've had in my life. It was aged ~ 40 years.

;D

Another good wine brand;

Romanée-St-Vivant, which is Pinot Noir.

If you like classy wine, this is for you. ;D

Go to any major Philippine city, they should have the best of the best.
Makati, Manila, Pasig, Cebu, CDO, Bacolod etc should have it.
