Baltimore, May 3, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - DRAG grew up in West Baltimore’s Upton neighborhood. Since childhood, he had a constant thirst for creativity. By the age of 5, he found a passion for drawing, often sketching futuristic technology or superheroes from his favorite cartoons.
DRAG developed a passion for music during car rides with his father. His dad, an avid music lover, had a vast record collection giving Drag an early introduction to many styles of music. At age 15, DRAG’s musical curiosity led him to start writing songs, but it wasn’t until age 19 he began recording in studios throughout Baltimore. Determined to eliminate studio fees and find a more flexible way to record, he saved money to purchase his recording equipment. His new setup gave him the freedom to record in-house whenever he wanted. Learning bits and pieces from friends, trial and error and a couple of tutorials, he got the hang of home recording and continues to learn new techniques.
DRAG has released nine mixtapes, multiple music videos and three albums. The evolution of DRAG’s music is clear from flow and cadence to tone and execution. His topics have always played with a range of wealth, nostalgia and creativity. His albums are concept-driven projects containing dark sounds and energetic anthems.
With the 2018 release of Dusk Til Dawn, DRAG compiled ten songs mostly 100% singing. The 30-minutes melodic LP includes 5 (bright /uptempo) songs representing Dawn and 5 (dark/slower-paced) songs representing Dusk. The album’s opener “Late Night” focuses on a fun night out with your crew celebrating the victories of the week. Late Night, the music video, focuses on the end of the night when you’re left alone with your thoughts. Replaying the events of the evening in your mind and moving into the future.
DRAG is working on his next album, “The Place Beyond The Lites,” which is scheduled to release later this year.
