Author Topic: Tubag Bohol is back! With Hurt Feelings (Read 5710 times)

Coming back is costly for all of us. More than 1,200 posts had to be deleted, more than 300 of those posts came from the question: "Are All Politicians Prostitutes?"

I had to make a choice: if I reverse the database to an earlier date, we can recover the deleted posts which were replaced with "a period" on the previous date I want to, but topics and posts made from that date onward would be lost.

Too much work to do and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines is not paying me for this effort. I had to manually delete the posts with a period and it was time-consuming, so I decided to delete the account of a member, including the topics and posts made by this member. Comments on those topics made by other TB members were automatically removed too.

Personally, I was deeply hurt because even my own comments were deleted and were replaced with a period. And I felt great sorrow that many beautiful write-ups of our compatriots here were replaced with a period.

In light of this abuse and misuse of our website, and insult to the Boholano people, I have decided to ban all from modifying any posts.

Better to impose this ban today rather than waking up one day and seeing our well-written articles being deleted and replaced with a period.

I am also totally affected of this bad doings what one our ex-TB member did. Mike, I know it cost you lot of work and nerves to get everything back in a normal way. He just deleted all those topics where he posted, so it was the best to delete him too from this site. What a barefaced!

I still cannot believe that he had the ability to delete and edit the posts in that thread. There was so much debate and so much good points--all jeapordized because of that same individual. Sorry lang Mike that you had to do that...that irresponsible, childish individual (who is in his late 60s by the way) has no sense of morality, respect for any of us in here. Who is he to DARE edit posts from our members? He could've deleted his posts, but he should have left everyone else's post alone. He had no right, whatsoever. His desperation and idiocy will be forever remembered in here, and I personally ananthemize him from ever coming here again. He has no respect for Bohol and he clearly has no respect for us for destroying our posts---which was not his intellectual property at all (as if he has any).

Mike, I say this again bro, I am very sorry. I get really angry just thinking what he was doing---probably laughing and seething as he was deleting things---pathetic old curr.

It's sad to know na nasudlad ang Tubag Bohol ug tawo (or tawo bay itawag nato ani) na dili makamao mo respeto sa iyang isigkatawo. Lorenzo, our trust was betrayed. our kindness was betrayed.
I gave all members rights and privileges to modify posts, but even my own posts were deleted and replaced with a period. For me, it was already an insult to us, Filipinos.

Modifying a post for the sake of grammar or syntax is appreciated, but deleting it and replacing it with a period is a disrespectful act, not even thinking how many hundreds of hours I've given to manage our site 24/7. I even sacrificed sleep and rest to attend to everyone's concern.

I do not even delete a post unless it is necessary. The only time I deleted a post was when I clean up the Jokes section in which there were inappropriate postings that degrade women.

I am very sorry to see that this happened, just as I was starting to enjoy our dialogue here together.

Unfortunately, the world of cyberspace has many vandals, because it is so easy to do, and equally easy to get away with.

Be of good cheer; you have many supporters and one detractor. In the end, the love easily outweighs the hate.

I have run systems like this for years, and one of the things I have learned is not to lose hope and to look the vandals in the eye. Don't show how mad you are; treat them with courtesy because it makes them madder than anything else you could do :-).

"I appreciate your efforts towards destroying my system because what doesn't kill us makes us stronger", etc.

I know it's painful and I am sorry about your pain and hope we have all learned and will grow from this experience.

can't help but feel sad and get upset with what one of our "believed well composed TB members" got the nerve to do a foul disposition. However, this is a learning opportunity for us...
