ENGLISH VERSION
To all native Boholanos in whose veins run the blood of love, peace and sharing,
It is my great pleasure to see the chaos caused by our discussion of the different issues using the two language that we learned: the foreign language – English and our own native mother tongue – Visayan (which is by the way not a LANGUAGE BUT A DIALECT – any comments Lumine, Paul, Rose and Mike?)
In our eagerness to share, we become US. We no longer have the reservations to show (or display) our own “arsenal†of knowledge. This is one good indication of our being Boholano: that despite the big distance that separates us from each other, we are united and we are one in our longing and wish to share and build a camaraderie with our kin.
This space on the internet and more specifically this forum we call “Tubag Boholâ€, is a good venue for us to build said camaraderie, without the fear of where the topic/s we discussed (or will discuss) be heading.
In some instances, there are issues that call for some serious attention and understanding (like politics, economics – or economy, and our vision for our beloved birthplace – the land of our ancestors). There are also some other issues that require technical expertise like "Computers and the Internet (and anything IT)". My hat’s off to Ghost for his expertise in this field of study. As I understood (and observed), this is what brought him to the Land of Dreams (the American Dream? or nightmare for some?). This is what gave him the opportunity/ies to fulfill his dream and gave him the chance to enjoy and savor the luxuries of life (things that most of those at home can only dream about). A kind of life that can be achieved only in dreams. The life that Ghost is now living.
In the same manner, there are those who are not as gifted (or if he/she has), is not as gifted as Ghost in the field of computers. But their gifts are in the spinning of fragmented words (and ideas). To weave these words into something beautiful and worthy of pondering and reflecting. Lumine, Paul and Rose are among them. Their gifts are in the field of words. The last one, but not the least, we must not forget Mikel whose gifts are in the fields of English, Visayan and computer, as evidence by the birth of this forum he christened “Tubag Boholâ€.
In short, these give more color to our discussion (or argumentations?). These can cultivate more the already rich and abundant experiences that each of us is fortunately given
So in some instances when there might be things we don’t (or can’t) understand, it’s up to us to ask those person/s that used said words. We have the inherent freedom to use them as we deemed appropriate or relevant. In our individual jobs (and works), we develop our own lingo that only those whom we work with understand. Like for example the words “hyper-threading, over-clocking, TCP/IPâ€, these are not in the realm of understanding for those ordinary beings who have no prior experience in the field of computers (for whom Ghost is the authority). On the same manner, “gobbledygook, highfalutin, schmaltzy†are some of the words used by those whose gifts are in the field of spinning words into meaningful thoughts.
We should not misconstrue those instances when we use our own individual gifts that we are up for a show only to display them. Rather, we should look at them from a higher level of understanding and realize that these are added opportunities for us to take a taste of each others’ varied gifts.
Long live to us who have the longing to enrich our own individual experiences in this journey we call LIFE!
Peace brothers and sisters.
