Press Release: Congratulations to Mr. Reynaldo Aniban for being Region 8’s 2021 Outstanding Farmer Entrepreneur. This is the “top” of the various citations given out annually during the "Ugmad Awards" which is spearheaded by the Visayas State University (VSU).
Mr. Aniban is one of the partners behind R & R Farm in Barangay Geragaan, Calbayog City. He is the second farmer entrepreneur from Calbayog to bag the award, the first being former Councilor Arturo Pasacas who won in 2012.
“Ugmad” is a Cebuano term which mean “uma” or “saka”. This year’s awarding ceremony was done virtually during the 2021 Farmers and Fisherfolks Day which was held last week under the auspices of the City Agriculture Office.
