~The "major²" issue scattered like a rat population giving us "Filipinos" a negative controversial impact,but God is JUST. Here's the contrary effect and i hope thru this we would be able to open our eyes that if we once fall there's always a place to stand up again in such so many ways. Take into consideration, Miss Phils.California 2010 "major²" inspiration was Miss Venus Raj..!

23 year old Manila born, Frances Pascua was crowned today in San Diego,Ca as the “Miss Philippines California 2010″ . Frances is Filipina and German descent and hails from Pasay City,Philippines. She moved to the United States when she was 5 years old.Frances earned her bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies at San Diego State University and is currently a student at Alliant University pursuing her MBA in Business Administration.Praise this young woman, she is not only strikingly beautiful but is very intelligent as well.She won over the judges when asked;
Q w/Judge: Literacy is very important to our youth today, with the invent of text messaging, instant messaging, and twitter today’s children’s are growing up to the tendancy of skim material and responding to a few words or characters, what book are you currently reading or have read in the past would you reccomend to today’s youth to encourage them?
A: I think the book that has really changed my life is “The Biology of Beliefâ€. “The Biology of Belief†is looking within ourselves and finding our own inspiration to move forward and reach our accomplishments.Unfortunately, with the times of today with the media and the internet- the growing growth of the internet;many of our youth are turning to twitter,facebook, and all of those websites which is great for technology but we have to take into consideration what kind of impact that’s giving to our children. If their span is only 140 characters; which is a twitter update, what are we teaching our children? We should encourage them to read books with value that has sentiment, that has philosphy like “The Biology of Beliefâ€which has really shaped me and inspired me to become the person I have become today. Thank you.
Frances’s platform is to give back to her country. Gawad Kalinga Community Service is the grassroots movement whose mission is to build communities to end poverty in the Philippines.Frances does plan on visiting her homeland this fall to visit her family and help the community as well. She is excited to take on her new role as “Miss Philippines California 2010″ to serve and attend community events and to empower young children- making a difference.
I asked her how she prepared for this pageant and she said Miss Philippines Universe – Venus Raj was her inspiration. This beauty on her spare time loves to live an active lifestyle- running and tennis everyday- thats her beauty secret. By the way, Frances can fluently speak Tagalog and her favorite filipino dish when I asked her †I have so manyâ€( giggles) Ok, Frances choose one, †Apritada!†Ok, I owe you lunch!
Congratulations Frances, we are so proud of you! Maybe one day she’ll become our Miss Universe?!
Until next time! Iyo Tunay<3
