Filipina dress 2007, I was a member of the executive committee(NRW Forum) , I forgot to wear a longer saya and Phil shoes, I was just checking the activities whole day. In the afternoon I did not expect that we have to present ourselves to the public, here  Kimona, denim skirt and Puma sneakers. I felt I represented a new Filipina woman.

gi initan ko nga ga tan-aw

When I look at this picture, i cannot help but analyze the picture, from a sociological perspective.

Im estimating this picture was taken from the late 19th century to early 20th. Hispanization is so obvious--that even the Tausugs of deeper Mindanao were affected.

The attire of the woman; observe her shawl, and her dress--bears semblance to the maria clara, aside from her headgear, which is some sort of indigenous regalia.

Daghan Spanish-mestiza dinha sa Leyte, bem.

My dad has an oil portrait of my great grand mother in my paternal side. The mother of my paternal grandfather. I've seen her face, through the oil painting, and she is wearing a black Maria-Clara style outfit. Spanish Mestiza to' iyang facial phenotype.

Ah, sa  unang panahon. :)
