Ngek!  Baby Matt will have a better life kon dili sya mag artista! Magulo ang buhay artista.  Been there, done that! hahaha mura pod korek!  artista sa freak movies hahahah

To the issue,  I married a guy from Kenyan and we are living in a country that is neither his nor mine - US!  I go with, culture doesn't matter. (thanks Happy!)  Communication is important so it's important that you speak out your mind.  panagsa mag away man jud but the important thing is that you love each other. When you love each other, everything can be understood. Our hearts know no distinction of cultures, anyway.

Marry someone of another culture?

That is a very hard question, i must admit, and I guess it would depend on the character of the woman, one that would be compatible with me, you know? People of other races and cultures are interesting and beautiful in their own regard, and I wont deny that I've dated girls that were of a different background. Experiences have been varied, so to say. However, when it comes to marriage (this is my own personal opinion) one is expected to last the long haul--to be there for one another through thick or thin, through the good days as well as the bad, to be there for one another and support each other and provide the proper foundation for the raising of children, which I believe culminates a union. Marriage, to me, is sacred, a union of two souls, under the presence of God--to be there for one another in our earthly existence--to be loyal to one another UNTIL death parts them.

I'll tell you about myself, I'm a conservative man, a traditionalist so to say. Though I'm open minded, I maintain a solid rock in the teachings of what my mother and father have infused in me---a strong Catholic, Filipino, Bisayan, Boholano identity. I would like to retain that identity and pass that on to my children--and that is why when it comes to marriage, I am strictly looking to find a Filipina future-Mrs. Bran Lorenzo Lucino (hopefully a boholana or bisayan). I want my children to learn the bisayan language, to understand our culture, respect it, appreciate it and pass it on to their own families in the future. There is no woman out there---as beautiful and lovely as a Filipina, especially a Boholana woman. :)

Also, all those in here who are married to foreign men, there is nothing wrong with that. So long as you're happy and content---and what counts most of all...that you're in love and being loved, diba?. Your spouses are very lucky because they married beautiful souls as yourselves! Be happy, and live happy.

I don't question your preference, Bran, because "ang Bol anon gayod magmahal kanimo hangtud sa kahangturan!"  I have had few friends from other countries and they are really have different views on family.  For men here naman, they want a stable family that their girls can not give busan they look for wives somewhere else.   But not all ha I don't want to be toinked for that. heheheh

Me, I didn't plan on marrying a non-Filipino neither did I plan to marry only a Filipino.  I let my heart decides who to love and be with for the rest of my life. lol  Of course, I pray so hard to God from the very beginning that He would lead me to the right man.  For awhile, I thought God had forgotten already my desire but He didn't!  He gave me a good man from a different continent but we understood each other.  WE equally love each other, and we will be together through thick and thin.

When I broke up with my ex (3 yrs before I met my banana), I was sooo frustrated and hurt, I spent most of my days inside the adoration chapel, sometimes I'd pray but mostly I would just sit there and stare at the walls. Then I remembered something my mom told me, about asking God for specific things. So I made a list of all the qualities I wanted my future mate to have, and then eventually forgot about it. Nakahinumdum nalang ko the night before my wedding, I realized that the stuff I wrote down on that list, tanan jud natinuod.

Thanks, C2!  And I am sure my sister Lumine can relate this too, di ba Men? ;)

At one time, I had a very good friend who loved me and I think I loved him too but it just didn't work and I just wasn't ready even if I was already in the right age.  Friends warned me that I had wasted a chance already.  But you can't argue with people just basing on your inner voice.  I always believed and I claimed that to God that He will give me the right man for me - not necessarily perfect otherwise he wouldn't want me too. lol

C2, I think someday oneday, we will meet each other in the adoration chapel.  When things get though, I get going by spending sometime at the adoration chapel.  You can pour your heart out and feel that God is really listening to you.

The adoration chapel has been my home away from home, adtong college ko, duol ra man mi sa Sto. He was my favorite priest of all time, perte nakong hilak when he died, dinhi naman ko adto sa states, unya wala ko naka attend sa iyang funeral.

Yes, Ms Grazie. That's where a relative of mine got married. Sooo peaceful and serene kaayo ang location. It was one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever been to.

Wow!  I bet the best wedding jud to didto!  That's my hideaway too, c2! I spent one birthday didto and they prepared a very humble dinner for me.  touching kaayo tapos gitagaan ko flowers from their garden. I love that place!
