The humanitarian aid convoy "Asia 1" for Palestinians of the Gaza Strip has arrived Monday to the Palestinian territory, which is under Israeli blockade since over four years, according to Algerian Press Service (APS).
The convoy comprises several activists from 25 different nationalities (Asians, Europeans and Arabs) participating in this solidarity action with the Gazans.
The aid convoy, Asia1, which started on December 2 from Rajghat in New Delhi and travelled by road to Syria, after crossing Pakistan, Iran and Turkey.
As a part of the convoy, a ship named Salam, which sailed from the Syrian port of Latakia, brought for Gaza residents humanitarian supplies worth a million dollars. Apart from medicines, foodstuffs and toys, the aid cargo includes four buses.
In a press conference, the head of Asia to Gaza Convoy Indian Fayrouz Mesbrola said that the convoy aims mainly at freeing Palestine and breaking the blockade imposed on Gaza, and reaffirmed Asia's great support to the Palestinian cause.
The Egyptian authorities had prevented Iranian delegation with the Asia 1 convoy from entering Egypt.
