Earlier today, Assoc. Dean Darling Chyrmyth Wagas-Estorgio represented Dean Joseph Randi C. Torregosa in the Memorandum of Agreement signing between different stakeholders of IBP Cebu City Chapter’s Humanity Behind Bar.
The partnership strengthens the policy of the State to promote the general welfare and to safeguard the basic rights of every Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) by ensuring their reformation and social reintegration, and creating an environment conducive to rehabilitation that is compliant with the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for Treatment of Prisoners (UNSMRTP).
Gullas Law School through GILAS welcomes this initiative as it hopes to help more PDLs in case monitoring as well as teach the students many important lawyering skills by applying what they learned in school through interactions with actual clients.
