Its long history since being Rafael Palma College (RPC) then to University of Bohol now, the institution continues to gear up for grander pursuits, year after year.
In fact, for SY 2009-2010, UB High School Department has designed a new program that reduced the number of school days per week and offers free tuition fees, making school easier for students.
In the program, 50 freshman students can avail the scholarship and enjoy the shortened school week of only four school days/nights and an annual P5,000 worth of tuition fee from first year to graduation.
UB High School Principal Myrna Garsuta said UB designed the program as a new innovation to help ease the burden of parents in sending children to school.
It is on a first-come-served basis.

Meanwhile, true to its reputation as premiere molder of teachers, 60 graduates from the Teachers College Department and one psychology teacher of UB passed the recent Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) given by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).
Dr. Carolina Belarmino, dean of the Teachers College Department, announced the following as the successful examinees: BEED–Hazel Acuña, Joseph Agbon, Marites Ale, Merry Joy Almusura, Rolita Arancon, Agnes Asoy, Rogie Avergonzado, Christian James Baguhin, Ramonita Bayron, Zenith Bongay, Analou Bonggot, Janice Bualat, Roche Cabujoc, Chona Dano, Miriam Daplin, May Ann Datahan, Jayvee Digal, Joni Marie Doblas, Evelyn Doble, Miraflor Doyag, Remellanie Felisilda, Kimberlyn Flores, Rudmalyn Gambe, Pete Roselyn Gulay, Roland Hinampas, Brenda Julio, Juvelyn Kudemus, Marie Paz Lofranco, Ma. Cecilia Lopos, Rosita Maliza, Aqua Nikka Monticod, Albina Naraja, Teejay Palac, Cherlyn Polbos, Mark Cyril Potane, Cristina Reyes, Ernil Sale, Zenith Sale, Jayson Sangarios, Irene Simo, Leonida Tape, Rowena Tugap, Bebie Turtoga, Ivy Vargas, Emalyn Villapaz.

In another feat, the UB College of Engineering and Technology produced four new mechanical engineers who passed the April 2009 board examinations.
Engr. Liberato Lupot Jr., dean of the college, announced that the new engineers are Engr. Julius Broñola of Punta Cruz, Maribojoc; Engr. Jessie Peter Estapia Galanida of Tabuan, Garcia Hernandez; Engr. Mark Vincent Paul Claro Lakilak of Tagbilaran City; and Engr. Mariflor Reyes Wagas of Estaca, Pilar.
