It seems they’re out of circulation but truth to tell, the Golden Seniors Club members are always on the go, getting lost every now and then.

January-born retired school principal Vicente V. Torralba missed the group when he celebrated his natal day in USA with his three US-based children, Lita Dumalag and Letty Lumactud gathered the mentors at JJ’s Seafoods Village in February, ditto with March celebrators Citas Ingles, Lurline Naparan, and Ma’am Leonor de la Torre who brought them back to the same venue of this city.

On April 14, 2008, the teacher retirees found themselves at Saya’s Restaurant to grace the joint celebration of April celebrators Imay Malaran, Precy Somosot, and Inday Rara, not knowing it was late Imay’s last birthday, who returned to her Creator two months after.  The late Imay is the fifth casualty of the group not to mention the late Maning Palileo, Miling Estillore, Vita Pilongo, and Ric Torralba. May their souls rest in peace.

Lita Palileo, GSC perennial prexy, Nene Ocarol, Doris Tadena, and Lenie Bernaldez invited the group to Bak Stiq Grill and Restaurant at J.A. Clarin Street.  The spritely mentors hibernated in June and July while awaiting for the homecoming of Vic and Bebot Torralba from their enjoyable stay in the land of Uncle Sam, getting together again on August 22, 2008 at the Torralba residence for Ma’am Bebot’s red-letter day jointly with Sir Ojie Cabilla who shares the same birth month. 

Sir Ojie got the chance to narrate his ordeal while fighting for his life in the hospital where he was confined.  The gathering was graced by balikbayans Landy Maslog and Gemma Millare, who in her message shared the joys and tears of her fellow Tagbilaranons in the land of green bucks, and soon-to-be members Adelfa Ocio, Judith Telmo, and Carlita Cuarto.

Retired Bohol Schools Division Math Supervisor Candida Mar and retired Bohol Schools Division Assistant Superintendent Dr. Preciosa Torralba, affirmed their plan to join the Golden Seniors Club.  US-based members Albina Karaan, Nanie Estrera, Yolie Bustrillos, Laling Honculada, Naty Teves, and Rufa Bantugan, are constantly keeping in touch with the group and dreaming of their future visit to their homeland to be reunited with the members of Golden Seniors Club.
