Message from Jose NazarenoHello guys!
Wa pa ko mahuwasi. Anyway, here's my short account of what happened.
The reunion was a grand success!
The most well-attended activity was the opening mass in the morning of the 25th with Fr. Ted Gapuz,
SVD as celebrant. 89 of our classmates attended the mass, right after the registration in the morning. Then we have the orientation on what's going to happen during the three days, a business form right after lunch where some of our classmates promoted their respective businesses and then the first
fellowship night in the evening which ended at 12 midnight. Diha mi audio visual presentation sa atong mga photos cropped from the year book. All 400 plus of our young faces were again brought to life in the presentation. Ato pud gitagaan ug tribute ang atong former administrators (Fr. Gapus and Dr. Dohig) and our former teachers who attended (Fe Gallares, Ines Mitra, Joe Clarete, Jose Bedio, Mr. & Mrs. Bueno, Mr. & Mrs. Cirujales, Mrs. de la Serna).
And we spent the rest of the night dancing and singing.
The second day was the scene of a 18-vehicle convoy that announced our celebration around the city up to the Janssen campus in Dampas. 8 batches, that included ours, celebrated reunions this month alone. But our motorcade was the grandest of all. After the motorcade, we had a tour of the new campus in Dampas. Many of our classmates were able to see for the first time the newest facilities of the campus. After the tour, we proceeded to the high school building and had an informal meeting with Mam Cardino. We presented to her a plaque of appreciation being the class adviser of the Pioneers. She was so happy seeing us. But of course, with lambing, was hoping that we could donate
something for the school. Unya naniudto mi tanan sa Tarsi Grill, a restaurant operated by one of our classmates si Juvy Tan. The evening was spent with the election of our new sets of officers. Jonas Inting and Theresa Dohig-Baquial were elected President and V-President, respectively. Included in the line up are Liza Laway-Dohig (Secretary), Marilou Sajonia-Visarra (Treasurer), Dolores
Corloncito (Auditor) ug Jimmy Logarta (PRO). Board of Directors: Allan Cajilog, Eduardo Labunog, Jose Vertulfo, JB Bullecer & Raymond Roldan. Diha pud photo presentation of old pictures of our high school days ug ang recent family shots sa atong mga classmates. Pagkahuman sa election, nag videoke hangtud 1:00 AM.
The third day was spent in Muro Ami Beach in Panglao. Nag thansgiving mass mi with Fr. Francisco Estepa, SVD, bag-ong president sa HNU as celebrant. Pagkahuman nag oathtaking ang mga newly-elected officers and the rest of our classmates also expressed their "oath of support". Then we had parlor games and bottomless bahalina for the rest of the day.
Addendum: Aside from the cash subscriptions for the souvenir books and other donations, we had 7 lechons during the duration of the reunion (2 each in the first two days and 3 at the beach), all donated by our classmates.
Wow! I wish that I can all express in words what we experienced. But I can only say so much. The rest now rests in our hearts and memories.
