“The University of Cebu (UC) community deeply mourns the death of a 19-year old nursing student earlier today, October 17, 2022, at around 9 o'clock in the morning inside the premises of the UC Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue campus.
We immediately reached out to the family and coordinated with relevant agencies to ensure that all necessary protocols are strictly followed. UC will continue to cooperate with the authorities for any further investigation regarding this unfortunate incident. We request everyone to respect the privacy of the family and loved ones in this difficult time and to refrain from sharing unfounded information about the demise of the student.
The entire UC community extends its deep condolences and commits to provide support to the family. Valuing the welfare and well-being of all, UC is currently conducting debriefing and counseling sessions to those who may be affected by the incident.
