Another batch of Consulate officers of China in Cebu visited Bohol this week to show their support and high regards to the province's only Chinese educational institution - Bohol Wisdom School (BWS).
Arriving last Monday were Consul General He Shijing with his wife Madame Yuan Qin, Consul Wang Xiulin with wife Madame Feng Shuilen and the Consulate Attache, Cai Wenzhi.
The welcome party comprising of the board of trustees of BWS hailed the guests to a lunch reception at the Metro Centre Hotel. In the afternoon, the visiting company made their courtesy call at the governor's office. After which, they proceeded to take the countryside tour as this was their first time to .
Governor Erico Aumentado joined them in dinner at Shiang Man Nou with the school board of trustees. The guests stayed at the Bohol Beach Club in Panglao.
Bohol Wisdom School played gracious host the next day, presenting a very warm welcome ceremony at the gymnasium. The Chinese guests were ushered into the venue to the tunes of Rosas Pandan and other lively Visayan renditions performed by host Kathleen Escobedo and by the Elementary Ukelele ensemble, respectively.
The entire BWS family waved Chinese flaglets in salutations as Consul General He Shijing officially turned over their generous donations.
Dr. Simplicio Yap Jr., acting BOT chairman cordially received the 62 boxes of Chinese books and dictionaries, and a Flatron computer for better Chinese instruction on behalf of the institution.
Administrative head, Maria Socorro Navarrete, expressed the school's gratitude for the support of the Philippine Chinese community to BWS.
The assembly sang their thank you followed by a Chinese dance and song renditions from the students. Before taking off, the Consul General and party toured the BWS campus with the administrative team and board of trustees. The officers saw the concerns of the Chinese instruction and promised more support from the consulate office in the future.
This fortunate visit by the Chinese Consulate officers has raised the fervor of BWS in promoting both basic and Chinese education to greater heights.
With the added teaching and learning materials, the academe is sure to improve its Chinese curriculum.
"I look forward to seeing Bohol Wisdom School grow. I hope the students will do well in their studies, living every day being better," the Consul General said in his message. --
