Ezra Jed Macabenta of the Tagbilaran City Science High School (TCSHS) brought home gold and bronze, teams and individual categories respectively, from the 1st International Young Mathematicians' Convention (IYMC).

The Boholano math wizard with the rest of the Philippine delegation topped in the IYMC held at the City Montessori School in Genti Nagar, Lucknow, India, in December 2004.

The Philippine delegation and its awards during the IYMC:

Team competition math quiz, gold ââ,¬â€œ Austin Pua, UNO High School; Gian Chua, UNO High School; EJ Macabenta, Tagbilaran City Science High School.

Math Relay, gold ââ,¬â€œ Ganet Go, Shangkai Shek High School; Charles Ang, St. Stephen's High School.

Individual Competition ââ,¬â€œ Ganet Go, gold; Charles Ang, bronze; EJ Macabenta, bronze, Jexglon Portacion, Gen. Santos SPED Integrated School, bronze.

Coaches ââ,¬â€œ Dr. Eduardo de la Cruz, Dr. Simon Chua and Anthony Ang.
