𝐂𝐂𝐉 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 || 𝐁𝐈𝐒𝐔-𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 ‘𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐨’ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦
The 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆 (𝑪𝑪𝑱), in partnership with the 𝑨𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 (𝑨𝑪𝒐𝑷𝒔) and the 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑩𝑰𝑺𝑼-𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒖𝒔, organized "𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐨", a meaningful gift-giving program for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Female Dormitory of the BJMP Bohol District Jail, Tagbilaran City.
The program made possible through the funds raised during the successful fundraising activity "𝑫𝑨𝑮𝑨𝑵, 𝑲𝑨𝑻𝑨𝑾𝑯𝑨𝑵, 𝑻𝑨𝑩𝑨𝑵𝑮 𝑷𝑨𝑹𝑨 𝑺𝑨 𝑵𝑨𝐆𝑲𝑰𝑵𝑨𝑯𝑨𝑵𝑮𝑳𝑨𝑵: 𝟓𝒌𝒎 𝑹𝒖𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝑪𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝟐.𝟎", aimed to spread the spirit of Christmas and foster mental well-being among the PDLs. It featured a warm welcome address by 𝑺𝑱𝑶𝟐 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂 𝑱𝒐𝒚 𝑩. 𝑻𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒐𝒏, Acting Warden of the Female Dormitory, and a lecture on Mental Health Literacy: Pathway to Well-being by 𝑴𝒓𝒔. 𝑫𝒊𝒏𝒂 𝑮𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒐, University Guidance Counselor. The lecture sought to empower the PDLs with tools and knowledge to support their mental health and resilience.
Key attendees included 𝑫𝒓. 𝑱𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝑭. 𝑵𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂, Campus Director; 𝑫𝒓. 𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒋𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒏 𝑶𝒎𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏, University Director of Instruction; 𝑴𝒓. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄 𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒐 𝑪. 𝑶𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒓, Director of the Extension Unit; 𝑫𝒓. 𝑺𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂 𝑶𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒓, Dean of the College of Computing and Information Sciences; and 𝑫𝒓. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒚 𝑱𝒐𝒚𝒄𝒆 𝑮. 𝑨𝒍𝒆, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice, adviser of ACoPs, and project leader of the event. Selected faculty members and personnel of BISU-Balilihan’s College of Criminal Justice, along with selected Criminology students, also participated, showcasing their commitment to meaningful community service.
This initiative underscores BISU-Balilihan’s dedication to uplifting marginalized sectors, demonstrating that compassion, collaboration, and a shared purpose can create hope and joy, especially during the holiday season.
