Dimiao , as a town, its rich history, its colloquialisms, and its people, holds a special place in my heart. As a child, during my grandfather's truck routes, we would pass by Dimiao on our way towards Loay, Lila and Baclayon, and Tagbilaran. I remember a time when I was but a little child, my lolo would sometimes stop by the mercado in Dimiao to purchase some hot Dimiao-non Pandesal , with a cold Coca Cola bottle. The two of us would sit on the stools by the bakery shops in the mercado, chewing the hot pandesal, while sipping on ice-cold coca cola. The kind where the soda's effervescent  gaseous emulsion flares on one's nostrils. Refreshing, truly.

Dimiao is a special town for me. It is the sister town of Valencia, and the home town of my lolo's grandmother. There are Tadlips in Dimiao, of whom my great-great-grandmother (my grandfather's grandmother) belonged to; she was a Dimiao-non.
