press release...The Bohol International Learning Center (BILC) laid its final foundations through the formation of its Parents-Teachers Association on June 16, 2007 in De la Paz, Cortes.
Elected officers were Pamela Gallardo, president; Carol Racho, vice president; Violeta Dano, secretary; Asuncion Maraga, treasurer; Samuel Mendez, auditor; Junin Caberte and Rodrigo Jamisola, PROs; and Ofelia Tesorio, business manager.
The officers promised to make the PTA an efficient channel of communication between parents and the school. Various issues and concerns raised by the parents were discussed in an open forum in its first meeting.
One of the results on these discussions is an on-going project that targets to create an efficient link of communication between the school administration and the students' families.
When this project finishes, a single school announcement can be sent by creating one message that is simultaneously sent to each parent's cellphone making it the first in the country. This will be a fast and efficient means of communication between the parents and the school at least cost.
On its maiden year, BILC opened its doors to students last June 12 with around 300 students from nursery through high school.
Its campus space, over seven hectares, promises a fresh molding ground for the youth of Bohol. (Rodrigo Jamisola/PPO)
