www.theboholstandard.comOn September 3, 2007 the municipality of Corella celebrated its 123rd Foundation Day with the turn over of the newly reconstructed Public Market Building as its highlight.
Congressman Edgar M. Chatto was represented in the said turn over by his wife, Pureza Veloso Chatto while his message was delivered by his Chief of Staff, Former Board Member Isabelito Tongco. In his message, Chatto said that the development of a town or a locality is strongly influenced with the development of its market, being the center of commerce and trade. As such, if a market is active, vibrant and progressive it follows that the town likewise is experiencing economic growth. He further urged the municipal officials to be united and set aside political differences to have a robust town.
It may be recalled that Corella, being the home of the Tarsier Sanctuary, Chatto worked for a yearly Five Million (P5,000,000.00) Tarsier Preservation Fund that has just started this year.
