TWO Boholano Red Cross Youth (RCY) leaders recently received the Most Outstanding Red Cross Youth award in the Philippines during the 16th National Youth Congress on December 2-5 at Grand Manila Hotel, Manila.

      The Boholano awardees were Camille Ingking- -one of the top 10 awardees, and Emmanuel Pilayre- -one of the 15 national finalists.

      They were among the Ten Most Outstanding RCY volunteers chosen based on exemplary leadership, exceptional academic performance and tremendous delivery of PNRC services geared towards alleviating human suffering that they have rendered to their respective chapters.

      The awarding was part of the closing ceremony of the 16th National youth Congress at Skydome, SM North last December 5.

      Ingking and Pilayre shared their awards to all RCY volunteers in Bohol and expressed gratitude to the Board of Directors headed by Bohol PNRC chairman, Governor Erico Aumentado and to the staff headed by the chapter administrator, Nenita Briones and Narcisa Bugo, and CSR-FR/RCY for their constant support and prayers.

      Both Ingking and Pilayre aim to inspire other youth to indulge and serve more the suffering humanity.

      The two young leaders raise their vision that states, “Red Crossers: always first, always ready and always there”.

      Ingking is presently a Junior nursing student of Holy Name University.

      Her voluntary service in the PNRC started in her high school days at CVSCAFT-Tagbilaran campus.

      She became the president of their school council and was elected as president of the entire Bohol Chapter Youth Council 2007-2009.

      The position entitled her to sit as ex-officio member of the Board of Directors of Bohol Red Cross Chapter.

      Knowing her potentials, the Board of Directors designated her as the assistant secretary and the chairperson of the Youth Committee.

      As immediate past president of the Chapter Youth Council, she heads the League of Presidents in the entire RCY school councils in Bohol.

      Ingking said her participation in the different congresses, trainings and values formation activities of the organization had helped develop her leadership potentials and enhanced her potentials to grow into a certified national leadership trainer.

      She has been active in organizing events aimed at inspiring the youth to move and help the needy.

      This year, she was one of Bohol delegations to the 16th congress where she was elected to the National Youth Council Office and as coordinator of the Red Cross Youth Council in the Visayas Regions.

      On the other hand, Emmanuel Pilayre is a Junior BSIT student of HNU.

      He started his membership and environment in Red Cross activities when he was still in high school at Holy Spirit School.

      He became an auditor of the Chapter Youth Council and chairperson of the pledge 25, a youth voluntary blood donor- -under the Red Cross program that motivates youth to donate blood so others may live longer.

      Also a national leadership trainer, he presently serves as the president of Red Cross Youth Council- Bohol chapter and an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors of the PNRC.

      All finalists from different chapters in the country went through a series of panel interview with different personalities in the organization.

      Last December 1, they had a friendship tour to establish closer camaraderie sharing thought and exchanging of ideas to help shape the future of the Red Cross Youth in the next five years. - SUNDAY POST
