I wish to congratulate Ethel Gladys L. Bonite, daughter of Tubag Bohol's Engr. Elias â€˜Dongâ€™ Bonite who was offered half-scholarship in International Graduate University (IGU), Capitol Hills Campus, Washington D.C.

She will be taking up Masters Degree in Business Administration and Management.

Sheâ€™s flying today, 27 December 2007 to USA via Korean Airlines and is reporting to IGU on January 3, 2008.

Ethel is a graduate of BS Mass Communications in Dominican College, San Juan Metro Manila.

I can imagine how proud a father is Dong right now.

Wish Ethel success in her new endeavor and hope one day she could be one of Boholâ€™s great achievers.

Thank you guys: to Macky, Grazie, Happy, Jun Ayag, Willmerit, C2H4 and Orchids.

Ethel is in New York now with Glo's sister. They are traveling to Washington D.C. on the 2nd of January as Ethel shall report to IGU on the 3rd. Eng'r. Serge Doverte, the President of Boholanos in Greater Washington, & wife Cory will help Ethel for whatever assistance she may need during her stay there. Betty Veloso Garcia, TBTK chair, and husband Bebs are also assisting Ethel in USA.

We hope and pray Ethel will be very succesful with her career.

Here's wishing a HAPPY & BOUNTIFUL NEW YEAR 2008 TO ALL OF US!!!

Mr. Dong, though I think na member mi sa una, inactive man sa TANOCAL. Gi invite man mi adto sa among friend na si Engr. Emil Mante so ning adto mi sa Howard in Union City. It was nice bya to meet with our fellow Bol-anons. It was funny because in the program I saw a name Ramon Pernia and I had a friend in Manila with that name. So pag introduce, I approached him and I learned that he was the uncle of my friend and co-worker in Manila who originally hails from Calape.

Pitoy akong family name, Mr. Dong.

if i remember right, duna'y Pitoy studio sa Tagbilaran. and i think Pitoy ang family name sa ako kaila na singer sa Deltas combo sa una. ila balay dapit sa UB campus.

Mr. Dong,

That studio was owned by Ramon Pitoy, relative of my grandpa. And so are the singer Pitoy. My father's family really hails from Taloto - some are even infamous kay mga bugoy - one of them was my Dad but old age tamed him already! My grandfather used to have auto machine shop next to Manong Ben's Funeraria Gomez then moved to near the Ice Plant. The Pitoy singers must be my Dad's relatives too. My aunt, former Engr. Edna Pitoy, used to sing in a combo band with her Pitoy fist cousins. I haven't seen a Pitoy yet (tabi apo, sana walay Ilonggo makabasa! hahahahah) who is not related to us!

I know, I should be more active with TANOCAL. I tried to be active though sa mga church gatherings sa mga Pinoy. There was one Pinoy nga who commented that I am everywhere daw kay naay concert sa Madrigal Singers, tua pod ko!

Oh last night while window shopping with my aunt and cousin, we were chatting in Bisaya and a lady approached us "Taga asa mo sa ato?" I said, Bohol. Ingon sya her father was from Cortes - Concon ilang family name and that her uncle is a judge in Panglao. We exchanged numbers and addresses and promised to keep in contact especially sa mga tapok2x!

Hi Grazie.. you belong to the family of singers diay. I mean music minded and mga Pitoy family. Of course one should not miss to see the Madrigal singers' performance if time permits. They are world class choir.

btw, kaila ka ni Fr. Roel Lungay? he's a tunesmith.. and composes or arranges songs etc. Mora man ug nihawa na sya pagkapari ron. He's my very good friend since our college days.

One of the former singers of The Philippine Madrigal Singers and now one of the composers, Father Arnold Zamora is a cousin but not in the Pitoy side though. He's also from Taloto. Oh, I had a great time when we were watching The Phil Madrigal Singers in Rocklin, California. Nag punsisok mga Pinoy oi nice kaayo tan awon mura'g dako'ng reunion. Not just Pinoy but the Kano and other races. Diha gani mi sa among likod na mga Germans. I didn't know ning hawa na pagkapari si Father Lungay! But he'll always be a priest man jud, di ba kay once a priest always a priest.
