Atty. Glen Palaca Hubahib of Mansasa District, this city passed the 2007 California Bar examinations held at San Francisco, California, U.S.A. last February.
The examinations were reputed to be one of the hardest in 21 years with only a 36.8% passing rate.
Hubahib migrated to the United States in 2001 and presently works with Alliance Residential Co. in Dublin, CA and with Community One Finance and Realty in Fremont, CA. He is currently finishing his MBA with emphasis on e-business.
The new California lawyer completed his local law studies at then Divine Word College (now Holy Name University) in 1993. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1994. He also finished Electrical Engineering at the University of Bohol in 1989.
While taking up law at DWC (HNU) he worked with then Vice Gov. Erico Aumentado and after passing the local bar as a Legislative Staff Assistant of then Rep. Erico Aumentado in Congress.
He was later appointed trial attorney of the Social Security System in Cebu City while teaching part-time at the University of San Jose-Recoletos, also in Cebu City.
Hubahib went into private law practice in Tagbilaran City from 1996 to 2001 and taught part-time at the UB College of Law.
While here in Bohol he was an active member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Brotherhood of Christian Businessman and Professionals, Habitat for Humanity, TACCECO and Knights of Columbus. He was also the Tagbilaran City Kabataang Barangay president in 1985.
Presently, he resides in Hayward, California with wife, the former Maria Flor Cepedoza of Danao, Bohol, who works as a Cath Lab Nurse in nearby St. Rose Hospital. They have son, Glen Tomas.
Hubahib is currently a member of the IBP North California Chapter.
