A freshman student of the newly opened Bohol International Learning Center, ideally located at the boundary of Tagbilaran City and Cortes Municipality stood out remarkably from among Asian young Mathematics, during the recently concluded 2007 China Primary Math Olympiad last Aug. 10-16, held in Shijiehuang, China.
Carlo Timothy Racho, romped away the bronze medal award in the individual category of the problem solving competition, beating all other Math Wizards in their respective countries. After having been under the tutelage of the MTG, Philippines, through its local Bohol Chapter, at BILC, the young Carlo represented as one of the members of the Philippine delegation to such prestigious international competition.
Carlo’s academic feat has brought honor to the Boholanos in particular, and to the Philippines in general. Surely, such achievement in Mathematics, perceived to be a higher level of intelligence, deserved our pride and recognition.
