To emphasize Clarin town's thrust on environment protection, this year's fiesta events revolve around the theme dubbed as "Pista Clarinkasan", the second term being coined from Clarin and "kalikasan"- -the Filipino term for environment.
Clarin officials headed by Mayor Hermogenes Diezon will launch "Pista Clarinkasan" on September 20.
This annual tree-planting activity dubbed as "Pista sa Kalikasan ng Clarin" or Feast for the Environment in Clarin will kick-off the town's annual fiesta celebrations, in honor of the Roman Catholic's patron saint, Saint Michael, The Archangel.
The MFARMC and MAFC lobbied for the environmental cause of reliving the virtue of planting and their simple yet noble contributions towards easing global warming and minimizing environmental degradation, calamities, and pollution.
Cooperators, participants for the project include all Clarin officials, NGAs, NGOs, GOs, POs, farmers, fisherfolks, academe, private and religious sectors with the mission: Green Clarin beginning 2007.
The activity also aims to strengthen the promotion of the town's eco-tourism program which is related to the annual tree-planting activities, and saving Mother Earth and buffering climate change, the "Pista Clarinkasan" way.
