MANILA, Philippines - A 74-year-old man was killed while his grandson still remains missing in flash floods that hit three towns in Bohol province Wednesday, a report said.
GMA’s regional network news Balitang Bisdak, reported that flood waters caused by rains induced by a low-pressure area killed Ebaristo Ramos of Clarin town, while his 6-year-old grandson remained missing.
According to the report, the town of Clarin was most affected by flood waters.
Also flooded were the villages of Macaas, Poblacion Centro, Tinangnan and Bataria in the town of Tubigon.
Authorities also noted minor landslides in the villages of Taninsiras, Tinangnan, Busungon and Ubujan.
Meanwhile, two bridges in the town of Cortez were submerged in floodwaters, leaving motorists stranded in the town.
Officials of the Regional Disaster Coordinating Council (RDCC) claimed they had made preparations for whatever calamities, but the floods came suddenly.
The RDCC is now focusing its attention on the flood victims even as it braces for more floods caused by continuous rains in the province of Bohol. - GMANews.TV
