Renault has asked French authorities to investigate the suspected industrial espionage at the carmaker.
The company has filed a criminal complaint "against persons unknown", accusing them of industrial espionage, corruption, breach of trust, theft and concealment.
It comes just over a week after Renault suspended three executives. All three have denied any wrong doing.
French judicial authorities will now decide whether to investigate.
Media speculation has pointed to a foreign rival being behind the alleged industrial espionage, but Renault's legal application has not named any individuals, companies or nationalities. - BBC
