Mazda Motor Corp. <7261> said Thursday it will release a remodeled version of its Demio subcompact on June 30 with a newly developed 1,300-c.c. direct injection engine that boasts fuel efficiency close to that of a hybrid car.
The new Demio 13-Skyactiv can travel up to 30 kilometers per liter of gasoline under the 10-15 mode standard measurement in Japan and 25 kilometers per liter under the new JC08 mode, which is a closer reflection of actual traffic conditions.
