Mistake of Toyota

Toyota has agreed to pay a record fine of $16.4m (£10.7m) in the US for failing to report defects in some of its vehicles' accelerator pedals.

The Japanese carmaker denied hiding the defects, but again acknowledged that it could have handled the issue better.

Some 2.3 million Toyotas were recalled in the US in January amid reports the accelerator pedals could become stuck.

Later on Monday, Toyota announced it was recalling about 34,000 Lexus GX 460 and Land Cruiser Prado SUVs worldwide.

The company said it would update the vehicles' stability-control software programme to reduce the risk of them sliding sideways when turning sharply at high speeds, partly because the fuel tank and the presence of the driver might make the left side of the vehicle heavier. - BBC

They should resolve this as soon as possible. Toyota is overall a solid maker.

Absolutely. The only reason why they are making such a big deal is because prior to this, Toyota has had a clean history. Does not matter tho, as the American automobile consumer market still prefers Toyota/ Lexus, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti.

kung daghan na man gud og electronic features ang sakayanan, plus, ambisyonan pa jug mass production (in millions), di jud ko motoo nga way depecto nga mahitabo. maapektohan jud ang kalidad, labi nas electornic parts.

yep. Additionally, the plants that are making japanese cars are no longer in japan anymore. Most of these plants are in china, or in the united states.

My dad still drives his 1998 Toyota 4Runner, when it was still made in JAPAN.

It runs well, body is perfect condition. Engine is strong. V6. No problem.

The new models have poor quality of production because most of the parts are no longer made in JAPAN.....
