Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX: The electric car that can travel over 1,000km on a single charge
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its latest concept car, the VISION EQXX, which promises to set a new benchmark for efficiency and range in electric vehicles. The sleek and futuristic sedan can travel over 1,000km on a single charge, thanks to its innovative battery and motor technology.
The VISION EQXX is powered by a single 180 kW (245 hp) electric motor that has been optimized to minimize energy loss. The motor achieves an impressive energy efficiency of 95%, meaning that 95% of the energy stored in the battery reaches the wheels. This is far superior to conventional internal combustion engines, which only convert about 30% of their fuel energy into motion.
The battery of the VISION EQXX is also a marvel of engineering. It has a capacity of 70 kWh, which is comparable to some current electric cars, but it delivers more than double the range. The battery uses advanced materials and cooling systems to reduce weight and increase performance. It also features intelligent software that optimizes charging and driving modes according to the route and traffic conditions.
The design of the VISION EQXX reflects its high-tech nature and its Mercedes heritage. The car has a low and aerodynamic profile, with silver, rose-gold and gloss black accents that create a striking contrast. The front grille features a digital display that can show different animations and messages. The interior is spacious and luxurious, with leather seats, ambient lighting and a large touchscreen dashboard.
The VISION EQXX is not intended for mass production, but rather as a showcase of what Mercedes-Benz can achieve with electric mobility. However, some of its technologies will be transferred to future models of the EQ family, which are part of the brand's ambition to become carbon-neutral by 2039.
