Hyundai continues its drive to provide eco-friendly vehicles for consumers with the unveiling of the Hyundai BlueON.
The BlueON is an electric-powered vehicle that can reach top speeds of 130 KMH and a range of 140KM which should make is suitable for use in highways.
Hyundai’s BlueON is based on the company’s small hatchback i10 which first gained attention during the Frankfurt Motor Show back in 2009.
For charging, the BlueON can be juiced up using dual-recharging methods; through a 220V household power outlet or a 380V industrial-strength power.
The Hyundai BlueON can be charged inside 6 hours while the 380V quick charge method can charge the said vehicle to about 80 percent within 25 minutes.
An additional highlight for the BlueON is that it comes armed with a Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS), an artificial sound that is created to warn pedestrians when the vehicle is approaching.
Hyundai plans to manufacture about 2,500 units of this vehicle by the end of 2012.
