The most bizarre cars of the future
Nissan iV
If this is what family cars will look like in 2035, sign us up please. Like the Caddy Aera the panels of the Nissan iV are transparent, and like the Mercedes Biome its body panels are grown in a farm. The panels are a spider silk composite.
But the best thing about this concept is its limitless range. The 'bio-battery' is linked to energy recapture technology that recoups 60 percent of the car's kinetic energy. It also traps sunlight with a roof-mounted solar panel with only one percent the mass of glass.

Honda Air
You'll certainly feel the air while driving Honda's futuristic take on the Ariel Atom. The Japanese company says it's designed for an 'aggressive lifestyle', although it's effectively made from recycled vegetables.
Like the Cadillac Aera it's powered by compressed air, though ensconced in the minimal bodywork are a set of turbo vacuums to suck air back into the tank, thus acting as a range extender.

Volvo Air Motion
The Volvo Air Motion wins the prize for best seating arrangement, which puts four occupants back to back. Other than that it's quite conventional, using compressed air to power a carbon fibre body.
The weirdest thing is actually the refuelling station network Volvo has envisaged, which involves wind turbines floating 1,000ft in the air.
