Bohol Provincial Office based at Camp Francisco Dagohoy in this city has offered cash incentive that would lead to the arrest of an alleged rapist-murderer even as his manhunt continues.

But Camp Dagohoy led by Col. Anthony Obenza, who reportedly announce the reward, did not divulge how much the bounty will be.

Police said that Emelio Panillon of Antequera town, about 18 kms from this capital city, has been elusive for past weeks. He is the suspect of raping and killing a 7-year old girl of said town.

Police believe that Panillon has been hiding or hopping from place to another that made him tough to pin down, victimizing young ones. His rape with homicide case is docketed as No. VII-02-INV-10C-0106 at the National Prosecution Service of the Department of Justice.

Meanwhile, Antequera town police force has been lately under fire for alleged failure to pin down Panillon.

The townâ€™s police chief was reportedly begging for public assistance any sighting or whereabouts of the suspect. (RVO), Sunday Post

After looking at the pictures of the captured victim who is unable to speak but able to see you can see him wrapped up in band aides and gauze tape hooked up to IV's and what not he is not in any condition or position to run away anywhere.

He was captured in a barangay in Antequera at or around 10AM yesterday morning.

Rapist arrested:

Rape suspect Emilio Panillon, who have been on the run for months was finally arrested yesterday at barangay Bantolinao, this town.

According to police operatives here, the suspect was arrested after a brief chase on foot by barangay tanods who were patrolling the area together with Artemio Baldisco, father of the rape victim.

Panillon was sighted at his farm in sitio Calumbangan, of same barangay around 10:30 a.m. yesterday.

As the group caught up with the suspect, terms of surrender were negotiated but Panillon again tried to elude arrest, prompting the victim's father to nail the chance and shoot Panillon using an improvised .22 cal. air-gun, police said.

The gunshot wound in the lower back halted Panillon.

The situation prompted the victim's father to confiscate the rape suspect's scythe (lagaraw) but instead of turning it over to the tanods, the victim's father hacked Panillon on the right heel.

Upon the arrival of the responding police led by SPO3 Sergio P. AÃ±aviso with Mayor Cecilia Rebosura, the suspect was already lying on the ground.

The rape suspect is recovering at the Gallares Hospital in Tagbilaran City, unconscious as of press time following surgery. (With reports from Ceil E. Remolador)

good news. kalooy sa mga pulis lupig lang ug barangay tanod. anyways, kudos to the barangay tanods of bantolinao, antequera. looks like the suspect didn't went anywhere as earlier reported. he just stayed and hide in bantolinao contrary to reports that he was spotted in several towns and even suspected of entering houses and several reported attempted rapes. im not trying to demean the police force but i think there is a need for them to augment their intelligence gathering at the same time they should be always mobile. if there was a manhunt it should have been intensified. it took several months and weeks before this man fell to the local authorities. sad to say it's not police but to the volunteer tanods.

Hello! if that case happened in Davao.. na taas ray tulo ka adlaw og dili bug haon sa DDS .. gamay na gud ang problema sa davao sa mga badlongon kay na... agian lang kag ga sakay og motor basta lagi hibaw an ka nga nagbinuang unya hatag problema sa katawhan.. wala jud kay katagoan.. adlaw dako taliwala sa daghang tawo.. ga motor lang ang tag limpyo
