Volcano Found in Bohol
« on: March 25, 2008, 09:57:28 PM »
Published by the Bohol Chronicle

There is a rare geological formation in Bohol - said to be the only one in the country but not part of the mystifying Chocolate Hills - which could be one of only two or few of their kind on the planet: The Ilihan hill.

Located in Tubigon town, Ilihan hill is monstrously huge "solid molten lava" believed to be thrown from the mouth of a now sunken dead volcano some 30 million years ago, according to Mayor Luna Piezas quoting the "finding" of a group from stands for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The world - or planet Earth - is about 4.5 billion years old.

The volcano must have been sunken somewhere between Bohol and Cebu, the mayor said, or Bohol and Leyte.

The experts, accompanied by a UNESCO staff from Tubigon, recently visited the mayor at his office and conveyed to him their discovery.

Piezas said in a Chronicle exclusive that the group told him the geological formation and evolution of the Ilihan hill is entirely different from those of the world-renowned Chocolate Hills in Carmen.

UNESCO just organized a global search for "New Seven Wonders of Nature" ranking the Chocolate Hills among the top 77 nominees.

Piezas said the UNESCO group that surprised him with the rarity of the hill in his town just conducted a technical visit to the Chocolate Hills before they intentionally went to Ilihan.

The group told the mayor that Ilihan hill is a plug, a massive cylindrical formation of solidified lava that once blocked the vent of a volcano. It is also technically called a volcanic neck.

The hill has since been covered with trees and other vegetations, and even inhabited by "tribe-like" people often described as a "cult" for their ways and norms as haunting as the supposed origin of their hill dwelling.

UNESCO experts told the mayor that the only other known plug similar to that in Tubigon is found in Brazil.

The hill totally formed by solidified molten lava rises in this place on earth where no volcano has ever existed - not even an extinct one has ever been known.

Ilihan's volcanic rock appearance will be most emphasized once the hill is totally stripped of its foliage or vegetation, the mayor was further told.

In a national park and preserve in Alaska is found the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes which entrance is guarded by two solidified lava formations, but which look rocky and not green.

The Tubigon mayor wished to know more if Ilihan evolution as sluggish, thicker lava moving slowly to the surface of a mid-ocean shield volcano after less-violent blasts.

I run a search of "Ilijan Hill" and guess what I have found:

There are more than one Ilijan Hill in the Philippines. There are three (3) as follows:

1. Ilijan Hill: Found in Tubigon with Coordinates 9°55'14"N   123°56'51"E

2. Ilijan Hill: Found in Misamis Occidental (Mindanao) with coordinates 8°37'0"N   123°35'60"E

3. Ilijan Hill: Found in Masbate with coordintes Latitude 12.2333333  Longtitude 123.2833333

How about Ily Hill in Ubujan? It sounds like Ilijan Hill.

So which one is the original one?

This sounds fishy because three points represents triangulation coordinates, where somewhere is hidden inside this triangle. Perhaps a treasure.

There must be an explanation behind this coincidence. It sounds like a conspiracy where the culprit behind this naming does it to deceive/confuse or is hiding some treasure. Maybe Princes Analiza is the custodian of the treasure.

I am now obsessed about “Ilijan Hill” and its mysteries.

So I made a research and found that there are three Ilijan hills in the Philippines. If you look back in my previous post in this thread, you may find the locations which is one near Luzon, one in Visayas and one in Mindanao. These three points formed a triangle which I called “Ilijan Triangle”. Inside this triangle, you will find Cebu Straight, Bohol, Mindoro Islands and some parts of Mindanao sea. Considering significant events, these places are the target of last year’s oil exploration. However, several rumors came out that the exploration is actually treasure hunting. I don’t know the truth, but I am just gathering information here and it is too premature to conclude.

Related topics:
During my research, I found interesting topics related to the name Ilijan, which means “Fortress” in Higaunon and where “Iligan” was derived. Upon further investigation, I found that the people of Iligan are migrants from the Kingdom of Panglao as below historical record. Hope you don’t get bored reading.

History of Ilijan or Iligan
Iligan has its beginnings in the village of Bayug, 2.5 kilometers north of the present Poblacion. It was the earliest pre-Spanish settlement of native sea dwellers, known as Maragats. The monotony of indigenous life in the territory was broken when in the later part of the 16th century, the inhabitants of Iligan were subdued by the Visayan migrants from the island kingdom of Panglao.

In the accounts of Jesuit historian Fr. Francisco Combes, the Mollucan King of Ternate invaded Panglao. This caused Panglaons to flee in large numbers to Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte. In Dapitan, the surviving Prince of Panglao, Pagbuaya, received Legazpi's expedition in 1565. Later, Pagbuaya's son Manook was baptized Pedro Manuel Manook. The Christianized Manook subdued the Higaunon village in Bayug and established it as one of the earliest Christian settlements in the country. The settlement survived other raids from other enemies, and, because of their faith in God and in their patron saint, Saint Michael the Archangel, the early Iliganons moved their settlement from Bayug to Iligan.

The name Iligan is from the Higaunon word "iligan" or "ilijan," meaning "fortress of defense" against frequent attacks by pirates and other hostile Mindanao tribes.

Philvocs and Gov. Edgar Chatto have confirmed: no volcano in Bohol. Hope this confirmation would end all the fears and confusions that have gripped our people since yesterday.

Friends, clicking "like" on FB does not help. Instead, click "SHARE" so that crucial information about Bohol would be spread worldwide. Again, clicking LIKE does not help disseminate information. Click SHARE instead, please. Thank you. - from Michael Ortega Ligalig.- from a facebook message passed on many times over
