Vice-governor Herrera Gets High Rating
« on: April 26, 2007, 01:52:53 PM »
VICE-GOV. Julius Caesar Herrera expressed sincere gratitude to the people of Bohol in general for putting their trust in him in the local governance particularly in legislation and steering the Sangguniang Panlalawigan which he chairs.

He said that the result of the latest Bohol Poll 2007 that gave him a net performance rating of +53 indicated that the Boholanos still believe in his capacity as vice-governor of the province. “A great majority of 88% of Boholano voters is aware that Julius Caesar Herrera is the Vice-Governor of the Province,” according to the Bohol Poll 2007.

The Boholano voters being satisfied gave Herrera 66% while those who are not (satisfied) 13%, the Bohol Poll said. The vice-governor, who is the national president of LVGP, got the highest rating of +70 in congressional district two and +30 in third district.

According to Bohol Poll project team led by director Josephine Tortor Cemine, the opinion polling was aimed at measuring government performance in the delivery of basic services. The public presentation of the poll last April 12, 2007 at audio-visual hall of Holy Name University was made possible through the efforts of the project team composed of Cemine, project manager Ernesto Golosino, and their teammates. The presentation was attended by HNU president Fr. Ernesto Lagura, SVD; vice-president for academic affairs Fr. Romeo Bancale, SVD; campus ministry director Fr. Andres Guban, SVD, and local officials, representatives from business, academe, city and provincial government, media, religious and other sectors. Maria Paz Jimenez-Espiritu emceed the Bohol Poll presentation.

Meanwhile, Herrera expressed concern over the plight of old pensioners and other beneficiaries of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). This surfaced during the meeting with municipal local operations officer of DILG called and presided over by provincial DILG director Rustica Mascarinas.

He said that he would try his best to do something about the various complaints lodged against GSIS’s “dismal” services especially the unnecessary procedures on the release of pensions to the beneficiaries. Herrera, as president of the League of Vice-Governors of the Philippines, assured those affected by making representations to the higher agencies to rectify whatever lapses the GSIS has committed.
