VFW Veterans Cadaber is Melting away with Time
« on: January 25, 2008, 05:39:40 AM »
Last night I had the privilege to be invited to the board of director's diocese specail board meeting concerning a British National with a dual American citizenship who passed away in Boy district this past almost two months ago.
Until not the cadaver of George William Dawson has not been claimed by any members abroad who have the funds to handle the disposal of the body.
Both the American embassy and the British embassy do not have funds to handle the cadaver nor are they authorized to touch the cadaver.
The man was a veteran of foreign wars through the British Army  and this is an Allied with the American Army Dawson also became a dual citizen as well in the United States.
Several files have been destroyed over the years with the VFW and many veterans are unknown because of lost records or simple negligence on the American side.
The people here are not allowed to touch the cadaver they are only allowed to preserve it until some one can claim him.
I was at the COOP Funeral home last evening and what I had seen inside the coffin was not good as the cadaver is showing signs of weakening and has started decaying and the coffin inside has drips of moisture falling down on the cadaver.
Two months is too long of time.
Time for the right authorities to come along and settle this case of the melting casket.
