A van for hire with nine passengers bound for Talibon from Tagbilaran City was robbed by armed suspects in barangay Cantones, Buenavista town yesterday.
While traveling along national highway, three suspects flagged down the vehicle in front of Clarin Catholic church and boarded. Upon reaching barangay Cantones, the elder suspect declared a holdup.
One of the suspects divested valuable items and cash worth P15,000 from the passengers and P2,800 cash collection from the v-hire conductor.
The third suspect seated at the back as back-up.
The suspects commandeered the v-hire and disembarked at the boundary of Bago, Buenavista and Sto. Niño, Getafe towns and fled on foot toward a grassy area. Police operatives conducted hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the hold-uppers.
The van-for-hire driven by Reynaldo Dua, 28, of barangay Causwagan, Catigbian town is owned by Loilito Tandug of Upper Calceta this city. (Ceil Remolador)
