One of the victims, 18-year-old resident of Torero Private Road, Tagbilaran City, Edcel Rey Nadela, sustained 50 stab wounds on the night of April 6, believed to be a member of Crips gang.
Police investigation had it that Nadela was caught in between the rivalry of two gangs- -the Bloods and the Crips.
Two suspects in Nadela's killing were arrested a day after in Talibon.
Witnesses said they saw Nadela and the two suspects having a drinking session on the night of April 6. Like the victim, the suspects are also 18 years old.
Barangay tanods of Taloto conducted a manhunt operation for the suspects after learning that one of them (suspects) called up his parents to inform that he had killed and dumped the victim on the shores of Taloto.
Another member of Crips was shot in sitio Baliaut, Barangay Poblacion, Baclayon on the dawn of April 12.
The 20-year-old victim was identified as Leonardo Salac Jr, a student of Central Visayas State College of Agriculture Forestry and Technology (CVSCAFT) Tagbilaran City campus.
According to Salac's brother, around 1 a.m. yesterday he was talking with the victim while heading towards the second story of their house to sleep when they suddenly heard a motorcycle stopping right in front of their house. Then they heard a voice shouting, daring his brother to a fight.
The suspect allegedly shouted,"Jun! Kanaug dire [kung] isog ka! (Jun! Come down here if you are really brave!," according to the victim's brother.
It was then that the victim peeped at the window only to meet the burst of bullets from three gunshots.
The suspect was identified as Oman Ubas, a resident of barangay San Roque, also of Baclayon.
Until the present, police have no idea what type of firearm was used during the shooting incident.
