The Philippines can, but together, we can be more!
In his speech during The Manila Times’ Economic Forum 2023, Ambassador Franz-Michael “Dan-Dan” Mellbin acknowledged the government’s positive efforts to sustain the momentum of a growing economy, but also underscored the need for structural reforms to attract more foreign investments.
Amb. Dan-Dan mentioned that there remain opportunities for the Philippines to improve in cutting red tape, upholding rule of law and governance, energy, infrastructure, and education.
The Ambassador also mentioned that enhancing investments in agriculture, equipping workers with life-long learning and technical skills, and providing space for increased business competition are key drivers to improve domestic productivity.
We will continue to work with our local partners to support the Philippines’ economic growth and further improve the lives of Filipinos.
