Tagbilaran Association in Metro Manila against RH bill

The
Tagbilaran Association in Metro Manila (TAMM) has thrown its full support to the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) in the campaign against the controversial Reproductive Health (RH) bill.
TAMM is composed of people from Tagbilaran City, Bohol who are now
residing in Metro Manila.
Through its spokesperson, Mrs. Tita Lapez, TAMM openly opposed the passage of the RH bill during a Holy Mass at the start of the 9th Day Novena for St. Joseph, patron saint of Tagbilaran City, held at the
residence of the Escalona family in New Manila, Quezon City Saturday evening.
Mrs. Lapez read an “Oratio Imperata,†a collective special prayer against the passage of RH bill. The prayer recognizes God as the “Creator and lover of all life†fashioned in His image and likeness, in “every human person.â€
“Grant us intense eagerness to recognize your image in every person, so that respect for all human life becomes our
way of life. Give us also the strength and courage to defend and protect the right of all
to live as you ordained, from conception to natural death,†Mrs. Lapez added.
The prayer also calls for “divine healing, comfort and peace for all affected by past abortions†and help alleviate the suffering and troubles of all women with pregnancy problems.
TAMM members likewise prayed to the Holy Spirit to “enlighten the minds, and open the hearts of those who do not yet fully respect, all human life according to Your will†and that all leaders and legislators in the country locked in debate on the controversial bill be guided by Divine grace “to act responsibly for the good and
well-being of all.â€
They also implored that lawmakers be always steered “by humility and fear of the Lord†and asked for the intercession of the Blessed Mother so that the “Gospel of Life†is proclaimed with honesty and love.
The TAMM is
one of the many groups in the country opposing the passage of House Bill No. 5043 to control population growth through the use of contraceptives which the Catholic Church is opposing because it is against God’s law. The Catholic Church favors natural method.
While the controversial RH bill is being debated in Congress, rallies by various groups, for and against the bill, continue in various parts of the country.
